The majority of the fish weere spawning for the first 3 days in very hot and sunny conditions so our results were excellent under the circumstances. Work for each fish and you will get results. We did get some success in a heavily baited area aong a gravel bar so do not be afraid to try this.
Most fish came to bottom baits with pellet bags fished to gravel bars. Fish were regularly fizzing in the silt but were totally uncatchable whilst preoccupied with whatever they were eating..most productive times of feeding were late afternoons and evenings with regular action at night. There was quite a lot of marginal weed to contend with once you hooked a fish but we bought a couple of rakes and rope and cleared most of it. The fish didn't zoom around when hooked and we found we could gently coax them in without too much trouble. We only lost 5 fish all week. This is a moody venue and you will have to work hard to get a real result but the rewards are there if you are prepared to make the effort.
The lake is looked after by Pascale Brillart who will deliver hemp, maize and on Friday fantastic free pastries for you to devour...she is a great hostess and adds to what is a very comfortable experience with the benefit of all on-site facilities.
