Robin Lake
Robin Lake was previously called pit 3. It was fished occasionnally by anglers from the other lakes of the Goncourt Complex. The Goncourt Complex benefits from an excellent reputation for the quality of it's fish and for its diversity.
Robin lake has quite a few obvious features to fish to, the fish do seem to move from one side of the lake to the other so it is just a question of keeping the eyes open to locate them. Having had very little pressure, the reaction to bait is excellent. The better results seem to come from a 1/2 pound of bait per rod approach, where every rod is pointed towards its own feature. Major casting skills are not required on this venue, if you can cast up to 50yrds, then you can fish anywhere on the lake. The venue is well suited to beginners as well as skilled specimen hunters.
Robin Lake fits perfectly into Goncourt reputation with its ample stock of heavily scaled carp running to mid forties. The average size in 2006 was low twenties with 30lb+ fish coming out most weeks. They make full use of the many features such as an island, gravel bars and plateaux as well as high gravel stacks rising from the bottom to just below the surface. Some weed patches may provide additional features in the bays during the summer months. Robin has always been excellent for stalking with the fish being very fond of patrolling the margins.
The mobile home is everything you expect and a bit more, it's layout and setup are well thought out by the designers, functionality is associated to comfort with the bonus of being easy to keep clean. The two double rooms are well suited to two couples and given the size of the lake each couple may even only share the mobile home during the night, not to see each other during the day, the choice is yours.
The mobile home is between two lakes and off the main access track ensures that guests can enjoy a bit of privacy. The place is exclusive and rented out on that basis only.
Guests are invited to bring their own bed linen and towels (ecxept tea towels) ; Duvets and pillows are provided.Although the mobile home receives cleaning maintenance every Saturday, guests are invited to leave the place as tidy as when they arrived. Extra cleaning hours will be charged to the client, all articles broken will be invoiced to the guests and due for payment before departure.
The baker comes to the complex for bread delivery every Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. If required, the anglers can be delivered pizzas on the lake on the Friday evening.
